NoneX Training in New Zealand

The training courses can be arranged for you in house, on the job or as public courses according to expressions of interest received.

Contact us and let us know your details so we can give you costings for anywhere in New Zealand or the South Pacific.

NoneX New Zealand offer training based on the training course and manual provided by the South African manufacturers of NoneX

This is a minimum of a one-day course, involving two hours of presentation including demonstrations. (The course length depends on the particular operations you wish to be trained in.)

Then we will go to a quarry where you will learn to use NoneX hands-on, including drilling procedures, the correct stemming and prevention of fly rock.

A short written test is included to test your knowledge. This may be done on the day or post-course.

After Course Completion

Following successful completion of the course, Rob Storrie, a Test Certifier with considerable experience with explosives, will assist you with the following:

  • Obtaining a controlled substance license (if you do not already hold one). This is similar to an firearms license and certifies that you are fit to handle explosives
  • Training and assessment of your knowledge and the issue of an Approved Handler certificate covering the use of NoneX
  • Training and assessment of your knowledge leading to an upgrade your existing Approved Handler certification if you are already certified for class 1.1
  • Credit of NZQA unit standards (depending on whether you are hooked on with an industry training organization and NZQA). Units available include: 20645, 20733, 20333, 21152 and 17694

If you already have a history of using class 1.1 explosives, this is can be a straight forward process, but if you do not have a history of the use of explosives there may be a requirement to obtain further experience or other restrictions.
